About Suzan'ah Free

Self taught on ukulele, guitar and piano, Suzan’ah Free started writing music before she was 10 years old. She attended college as a Music Composition Major, and her first job was working in a recording studio where she sang and recorded demos, radio voice-over work, and learning the ins and outs of music studio production. Her influences were formed from her Father, who loved the Jazz Sounds of the Big Band Era, and her Mother’s combined love of Broadway Tunes and Latin Rhythms from her Spanish Heritage. And in her youth, she became immersed in the Island Rhythms found in the standard songs of old Hawaii.

With her husband, Danny Ellis, they began performing as a duo working the Local Clubs and Special Events scene in Florida. She and Danny performed as the Reverend Danny & Sister Blues, opening for national acts such as Charlie Daniels, KC & Sunshine Band, Mark Chestnut, David Howe and more. Their successful Themed Entertainment Company , Kokopeli Music, produced themed and specialty events for public, private and corporate clients, including a wide range of props and décor for Luaus, Weddings, Casino Nights, Extravaganzas, Halloween, Mardi Gras, Oktoberfest and more! Their band, SRAZZ, presented a lively show featuring a variety of Pop, Island, Jazz, Blues and of course, Suzan’s original tunes.

Suzan was the female lead vocalist from 2007 through 2008 for the 17-piece big band, SWINGTIME, in Melbourne, Florida. She formed SRAZZ in 2009, which originally was a 5-piece jazz band, featuring some of the best jazz musicians around. Currently, Suzan performs solo, or with a duo or trio as KONA BEAT, a Florida Trop Rock Band, playing keyboards and ukelele, presenting a lively show featuring a variety of Pop, Island, Jazz, Blues and of course, Suzan’s original tunes.
